Queensland Trip : Part 2

The view of the ocean and beach from our eighth floor apartment on the Gold Coast of Queensland was extensive and superb.  Son David, from Sydney, spent a weekend there with us, and we enjoyed sightseeing and shopping at all the tourist locations along the coast.
Sanctuary Cove is one of several exclusive lifestyle resort villages where residents can enjoy the best of everything without leaving the area.  There are fabulous homes built on  waterways where the luxurious boats are moored at the back door,  the golf course is close by, and designer shops and supermarkets abound.
Northwest of our holiday destination is the cattle property where our daughter Tracey and her family live.  Theodore, on the Dawson river, is the service centre for the cattlemen and cotton growers in the area, and here we enjoyed a picnic lunch near the water skiing area of the Dawson river, where Tracey's family spend many weekends in their boat, skiing.
Our oldest grandson, Jason, is nearly seventeen, and is pictured here with Maurice and myself in the garden of the "Woodine" cottage, on the family's cattle property.  Tracey and Andrew and their three children have lived here for almost twenty years, but are moving soon, into
This attractive new home, which is being built on "Woodine", a few kilometres from the cottage.  The construction is of mud bricks, which were made from soil on the property, and the house is designed for the hot Queensland climate, so every room has its own breezeway to circulate the air, and each opens onto the verandah, back and front.
From the front of the house, the view of the property is panoramic.
